FALL SEASON ALL COUNTY AWARDS!!!!
It is with great humility and honor that I'm able to share with you the All County selections for the Fall Season Sports. We have 5 sports in the Fall, 4 of them involved in Districts and post-season play ( volleyball will join next year). These sports are Football, Swimming, Golf, and Cross Country. The Sun Sentinel Newspaper has made it's selections.
Please keep in mind, this little home school co-op, the South Florida HEAT, has been ridiculed, scrutinized, and deemed from it's inception that "that thing will never work". PTL!
These selections are made by the Sun Sentinel, with the input of area coaches--the actual opposition, so these awards are quite complimentary.
SWIMMING--All schools, regardless of size, are bunched together for this recognition. For the second consecutive year, 1st team All-County--the highest level of accomplishment--with ALL AMERICAN qualifying times, one of the best swimmers in the STATE, CLARA SMIDDY!! (she was injured all year and still excelled). Also earning recognition for their excellent times and performances, as Honorable Mention recipients, only 7th graders competing against the High Schoolers, ROSE SMIDDY and SERAH ADKISON!!
GOLF--in only its first season of existence, Honorable Mention commendations to, who are both only 8th graders, KATE WILLIAMSON and JACI CRUZ!!!! Congratulations ladies, and the future successes are even more exciting!!!
Cross Country--As both teams advanced to State Championships, recognized with Honorable Mention performances: HALEY BOTNER, JENNA EVANS, DALYKAY REBACK, ALLY POND, BEN NEVILS, IAN MCCULLOCH, DAVID FAGOT, and JAVIER PULIDO!!!
FOOTBALL--in it's first year of post-season play and inclusion into All County consideration, recognition is difficult, as all schools with a population of up to 1500 in their High School are bunched into one group. This includes the American Heritages, Archbishop McCarthy's, State Champs University School, Pine Crest, etc....... The 2nd highest level of recognition is labeled "2nd Team All County". Named to the 2nd Team All County Defensive team--CALEB JACOBSEN!!! In addition, Honorable Mention commendations to both DAVID FAGOT and ELI KERR!!!!
We serve a loving and mighty God. How Blessed are we to be able to choose where our kids can participate athletically, not strictly in a perhaps favorable environment, but within a highly competitive arena that both develops and brings out the very best of them.
