SF HEAT TRACK AND FIELD SEASON
Our 6th Track and Field season begins in just over 4 weeks, January 18th being the first day of practice, and a season opening parent meeting as well. As in the past, we will be having both a High School and Middle School team. Any age or grade questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We compete directly with Public and Private High Schools and Middle Schools. This has been one of our most exciting, and celebrated sports with 5 District Championships, and 1 Regional Championship over the past 6 years. Individually, we have sent over 2 dozen athletes to the State Championship meet, one coming home as the number 1 State Champ. Our teams have earned the reputation as warriors on the Track, outstanding young ladies and gents off it.
The season runs through early April for the middle schoolers, mid-late April for the High Schoolers. A very exciting year is anticipated, as the High School boys look to bear fruit of the several years they've participated and learned, to be perhaps one of the top teams in the State. The girls team continuing their reputation as a team to reckon with in their District and Region.
This sport/season offers 13-17 different events to chose from, many finding their gift/passion in the first week or 2. It is also one of the favorite seasons socially, for in the past we average about 2 dozen middle schoolers, 3 dozen High Schoolers.
Please do not hesitate with any questions. Those that have interest and have not participated with the HEAT this year, it is very important to contact me in a very timely manner, for there is registration paperwork due for the County and State. We are fully affiliated with the Florida High School Athletic Association, with all the rights and responsibilities of any Private and Public school. We must attend to the same paperwork as they do.
I very much look forward to hearing from you, and meeting the newest wave of families for this season.
Continued Blessings to you,
Coach Bob Bemis
